Bridge Inspection has become a serious issue in the United States. Structurally deficient and/or functionally obsolete bridges constitute one fourth of the Nation's bridge inventory. The cost of road and bridge improvements is estimated to be over $200 Billion. In this environment, bridge inspection is a very important factor in the general safety and welfare of all Americans. This 2-hour online course explains the law impacting bridge inspection as well as the general requirements of an inspector.

• Understand how to conduct a physical examination of the bridge using tools and instruments
• Know how to determine the actual conditions of the various elements that make up the bridge structure
• Be aware of how to record this information on approved forms
