Biography
Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. is a powerful, internationally known speaker, trainer, consultant, author, and publisher who walks her talk. On June 13, 1998, Rossetti’s life was transformed when a 3 1/2 ton tree came crashing down on her. Her life was changed in that instant!
Paralyzed from the waist down with a spinal cord injury, Rossetti looked deep within herself and found new strength and new resolve. Determined to take back her life and make a difference for others, she shares the lessons she has learned since that fateful day and demonstrates how to rise above misfortune and live life with conviction.
Rosemarie presents internationally to audiences from ten to ten thousand. Through her enthusiastic, warm, and empathetic personality, Rosemarie draws the listener into her message and develops a following wherever she goes.
Rossetti’s motivational program Attaining Competitive Advantages by Managing & Embracing Change is a transformational experience. Rossetti uses the lessons that she learned during her spinal cord injury recovery to empower participants. She focuses on what motivates people to change their behavior, awaken their inner gifts, find meaning in their lives, and accomplish more to bring out the best in themselves.
As a result of this program, participants will be revitalized and recharged. They will leave with restored hope, happiness and an improved vision of their future.
Rossetti helps people achieve goals and take charge of their lives. She brings a positive attitude to life that touches all who hear her, with an emotive speaking style that makes audiences fall in love with her and rally to her message.
Rossetti speaks to and consults with meeting professionals to help them create a welcoming inclusive environment to ensure that they exceed requirements mandated by the venue and the meeting organizer for inclusion and diversity. In her program Accommodating People with Disabilities at Meetings and Events, she helps meeting professionals anticipate challenges to assure a more smooth, gracious and respectful experience for every participant. She is a Meeting Professionals International Inclusive Event Designer.
Rossetti and her husband, Mark Leder, are on a personal mission to influence those associated with the housing industry, government policymakers, and the public at large to address and meet the needs of housing for an exponentially growing aging population. Their goal is to provide accessibility for those who wish to stay in their homes for as long as possible, and accommodate multigenerational family and caregiving needs.
Rosemarie and her husband know what works from experience. They built a national demonstration home and garden in Columbus, Ohio, the Universal Design Living Laboratory www.UDLL.comExternal Link. The highest rated universal design home in North America, it earned three Universal Design national certifications. In addition, the home was awarded two green building certifications: Silver LEED from the U.S. Green Building Council and Gold level on the National Green Building Standard program.
Rossetti is an inspiring entrepreneur who is rethinking design and building by spearheading discussions and experiments around re-imagined living spaces. Her presentations and continuing education classes for professionals and consumers help people integrate universal design, accessible design, and green building features into their home and garden projects.
Rossetti delivers programs on the topic of universal design and green building, entitled How To Use Universal Design To Increase Your Business and Turning Green Building Practices Into Profits. She and her husband consult with builders, designers and consumers assisting in the design of new and remodeled homes. She is a Certified Living in Place Professional and Senior Home Safety Specialist.

Rossetti has written a monthly article for the National Kitchen and Bath Association since December 2018. Rossetti’s "Accessible Home" column was published from March 2006 – June 2011 in Action Magazine, a national publication of the United Spinal Association. Her articles about designing homes have appeared in Ultimate Home Design, 50+ magazine, PN magazine, Special Living Magazine, Columbus Monthly, and Ability Magazine. Rossetti developed Selling Disability Income Insurance with Conviction using her case study. In this program Rossetti discusses the value of disability income insurance and motivates insurance professionals and financial planners to sell more policies.
