This informative interactive online course explores the state's administrative rules for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) Contractors under Title 16, Administrative Code, Chapter 75, administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

As an ACR contractor in Texas, you studied the laws and rules to pass your licensing examination. One aspect of these laws and rules is that you must take a one-hour course each year to stay up to date and maintain your license.

ACR Contractors are professionals and should always act in an appropriate and professional manner. Knowledge of the most current laws and rules for this profession will enable contractors to perform their work to the best of their ability. The State of Texas has passed laws that provide the minimum specifications for required actions.

This course satisfies the continuing education requirement of the TDLR for one hour of training on the rules and regulations for contractors as part of the overall continuing education requirement.

Contractors should not only include these standards in everyday actions, but actively strive to exceed them whenever possible.

List the circumstances under which a temporary license may be issued
Describe the application process for an applicant who may have a criminal record
Recall the frequency in which licensees, and registered or certified technicians must renew their credentials with TDLR
List the requirements of the technician certification training program and exam
List the settings in which an individual may be exempt from holding a license while working with air conditioning and refrigeration equipment
Recall when a licensee can allow another individual to use his or her license

Biography

Thomasena found her love for teaching while serving in the Navy Reserves, and it set her on the path to become a licensed HVAC-R contractor, receive an Associate of Science in Residential Air Conditioning from Eastfield College, and earn a Bachelor’s in Instructional Design from Texas A&M at Commerce. After earning the required credentials, she taught classes at the college level for several years. She has trained, developed curricula, and created learning resources for leading manufacturers in the industry. In addition, she has worked closely with college programs to help them integrate cutting-edge technology into the classroom. Thomasena holds a Class A Environmental License in the State of Texas.
